rom&nd Makeup Guide: A Soft, Dewy Look Without Overdoing It

A dewy makeup look works best when it still looks like skin. The easiest way to get there is not to add more shine everywhere—it is to control where coverage, color and gloss go.

Start With a Comfortable Base

Use skincare that has had time to settle, then apply base makeup in thin layers. Concentrate coverage where you want it instead of repeatedly building cushion foundation across the entire face.

Keep the Cheeks Soft

Choose blush that blends easily and build it gradually. A small amount placed high on the cheeks can add freshness without competing with a glossy lip.

Use the Eyes for Definition, Not Weight

Soft neutral shadows, a fine liner and defined lashes can frame the eyes without making the look feel heavy. If shimmer is part of the look, keep it targeted rather than covering the whole lid.

Let the Lip Be the Finish

rom&nd is closely associated with glossy and tinted lip textures, but application matters more than chasing one specific shade. Apply a thin first layer, blot the inner edge if needed, then add a little more gloss to the center.

The Dewy-Look Balance

If the cheeks and lips are glossy, keep the T-zone more controlled. If your base is already luminous, skip extra highlighter where texture is visible.

Think contrast: skin-like base + soft color + one glossy focal point. That usually looks fresher than trying to make every part of the face reflect light.
